BANDA ACEH – President Director of PT Pembangunan Aceh (Perseroda) or better known as PT PEMA, Ir Faisal Saifuddin was a resource person at the Aceh Journalist Competency Test activities carried out by the Press Council in collaboration with the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) Aceh Management which took place on Friday (27/09/2024) at Kyriad Hotel, Banda Aceh.
At the event, which was also attended by the Acting Governor of Aceh, Dr. H. Safrizal ZA, M.Si, Faisal had the opportunity to be a resource person at one of the exams or tests attended by 18 members of PWI Aceh class XIX with the classification of young and intermediate level UKW participants.
In his presentation, Faisal described the oil and gas blocks (PGE & South Block A) that are being run and in the planning stage to be run. “Oil and gas is one of the natural resources that should be managed properly, especially in Aceh. In this case, the role of the press is needed in managing the publication of news and branding Aceh in the eyes of the world, especially related to this oil and gas block,” Faisal explained to journalists participating in the UKW.
Faisal also added that press professionals must continue to be encouraged, this is what distinguishes the quality of Aceh journalists, besides that Faisal also hopes that the media crew can play an active role in building a positive image of Aceh in the eyes of the world, this plays a role in the news circulating affecting the high and low investors who will invest in Aceh. If the issues circulating are positive, it will indirectly reach out to outside communities to invest in Aceh, but if the news created is negative, it will have the opposite impact.
At the end of the event, Faisal also answered several questions from UKW participants related to the implementation of PON XXI, which was part of the journalist competency test. The questions tested the participants’ ability to extract information from sources.
