In the framework of World Clean Up Day 2024, PT PEMA Supports Waste Cleanup Action with the Aceh Government

Several areas were determined as the main locations for the action, including Dimurthala Stadium, Meuseuraya Aceh Hall, KM 0 Banda Aceh, Lambung Tennis and Rugby Field, Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport and Keuliling Reservoir Aceh Besar.

Banda Aceh – PT Pembangunan Aceh has once again demonstrated its commitment in supporting sustainable environmental management through Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility. For several years in a row, PT PEMA has never failed to contribute to the waste cleanup agenda on World Clean Up Day. The waste clean-up action involved all civil servants of the Aceh Government, Banda Aceh City Government, Aceh Besar District Government, students and various communities and organizations (20/9/24).

Not only that, the Acting Governor of Aceh Safrizal together with the Deputy Secretary of Aceh Azwardi and all Heads of SKPA also participated in the action.

On that occasion, the Aceh Environment and Forestry Service (DLHK) explained that it would divide the types of waste cited into 4 categories, namely organic, plastic, hazardous waste, and residual or non-recyclable. It didn’t take long, in an instant all the guests who attended were able to collect 3 tons of garbage from 1 area from a total of 6 location points, which is a fantastic number. How could it not be, in half a day from Harapan Bangsa Stadium tons of waste could be collected.

The garbage collected is proof that there is still limited public awareness of the importance of protecting the environment. PJ Governor, Safrizal invited all ASNs and the community to make a clean lifestyle a culture. According to him, cleanliness is very important to implement because it is closely related to health. The commemoration of World Cleanup Day must be a momentum to foster awareness of clean living at all levels of society. Because as the economy of a region advances, the amount of waste produced by the community will also increase.

“We hope that PEMA will not only be the driver of Aceh’s economy, but also a model of a professional, innovative and sustainable regional company”
